Companion Mod 1.20.5 – 1.19.4 for Minecraft. Are you tired of your pet behaving in a strange manner and finding ways to be in trouble? Well, there is a perfect solution in the form of this modification. Because this mod will allow you to train your pet in a particular direction that it won’t do silly things to harm himself in different situations. However, there are some exceptions but in general, it is a great addition that will be a huge help for all the players who want to keep their pet loyal to them.
What is Companion Mod for Minecraft?
Furthermore, there are some specific behaviors that will be induced into your pet, when you will use this tool. When you are teleporting or entering a portal, your pet will accompany you. Similarly, while your pet is leashed, it will also follow you through portals. Moreover, if the pet is about to be unloaded, it will be teleported to you. Subsequently, pets will not attack enemies if their health is below twenty percent. Most importantly, when a pet’s health drops below 20%, it will teleport to your back. Interestingly, they will not enter portals unless they are close to you. On the contrary, Parrots will remain on your shoulder while you are floating on water. They will only dismount from your shoulder if you jump. Lastly, Pets will not be harmed by the Sweeping Edge effect.
Friendly fire will not affect pets in the game.

How to Install Companion Mod for Minecraft Fabric:
Fabric is a Mod Loader as well as a toolchain (Java library) for installing and creating Minecraft mods for Release Versions and Snapshots. It’s an alternative to Forge API, which is still a stepping stone for enhancing gameplay through community-created mods. Fabric API is newer and lightweight compared to Forge, but it’s quickly updated with newer Minecraft versions and its mode base/quantity is increasing gradually. Fabric is also lightweight however it is still lacking behind in terms of compatibility while simultaneously running a different set of mods.
For player:
You can install Mods using Fabric Loader & API which comes with the automatic installer which creates profiles in Minecraft Launcher. Once you run the game once using newly created Launcher profile, then open %appdata%/.Minecraft and drop your favorite mod (.jar extension file) into the mods directory.
For developers:
If you are familiar with Java, there are extensive mod development guides and tools available to simplify the process. For example; Fabric Loom, Yarn, tiny-remapper, and Engima (for deobfuscation of Java bytecode). You can head over to the official wiki for more details.
Note: Fabric and Forge API mods cannot run together and will probably crash your Minecraft. Keep a copy of your save games before you experiment with the mods.
Guide to add Companion Mod for Minecraft Forge:
Install Forge API, it already comes in an installer. Make sure you run Minecraft after that.
Now access mods folder of Minecraft
On Mac, open“Go to Folder.”
Type “~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft” and then click “Go.”
For PC:
Press WindowsKey+R, type %appdata%/.minecraft, and hit Enter.
Download the mod for your Minecraft version and copy it to the mods folder you just accessed.
Start Minecraft launcher, select Forge API profile, and click “Play”.
